Continuing to practice regularly at home, as the local ranges are closed or otherwise inaccessible due to the social distancing mandates which appear to be flattening the curve in Oregon.
I finally got around the assembling the pellet trap that I’d ordered around Christmas with the intent of setting that up in the garage for some air pistol action (analogous to air guitar?…). I’d noticed that one of the included targets is a scaled down version of the universal “vaguely humanoid” figure.
Putting off the airsoft stuff for another day, I tried out this new target with the laser training cartridge:
Admittedly my laser ammo setup is pretty lo-fi, but we work with what we got. The above screenshot from the app documents 10 shots at 5 yards, which according to some questionable scrap paper math, would be the equivalent of an 18"-wide IDPA target set at about 20 yards away.
And no, I’m not going to “show my work” as the algebra teachers of the world would insist.
Again, all this is absolutely no substitute for the real pew pew (and the math is sketchy), but given current circumstances, we work with what we got. And it’s still a lot of fun.
